Each time I share a recipe or idea for recipes there should be a disclaimer saying: " Cut all excessive oils, fat, sweetening, and use your own choices for substitutions. " This may then get folks thinking, as they use the recipes! To point up the oil situation: We ate out last night and I ordered vegetable fajitas. They were very tasty, no a problem, but loaded with oil. I was pretty careful and ate only 1/4 of the huge serving. I brought home the rest. ....Now the problem is: Today...heartburn. I believe it was the oiliness. I was going to give the veggies to the dog on her dry food, but I don't want to upset her either. I am tossing the remainder. " Roll-Aid Lady, " today...Barb K. I do agree that the least we use as added oil the better About recipes: on this group at least, rather than adding a disclaimer about using less oil or adjusting it we ask that - since this IS a low-fat (which includes all oils, including veg. oils) group - that recipes actually posted to the group are changed to indicate the low amount of oil the member actually used in his/her adaptation of the recipe (and of course any other changes made). As for my comment, it was just a heads-up to members, yourself included. As I say this is a low-fat veggie group and we need to make sure that new members, or absent-minded readers who may be on other groups as well, do not think that we endorse, say, 3/4 cup of oil in a recipe LOL Okay? Have to do this or this group would make no sense and we might as well fold.
