Guest guest
Sent to me by another group moderator: Groups that are open to all members posting messages are being hacked by an individual to harvest the members e-mail addresses and then members are sent very ugly letters telling them to un-sub from that Group. Many Groups have lost a lot of members due to this problem. You should know that if you receive a letter like this from any Groups you belong to that it is probably NOT real and you need to forward it to the Group Owner. has been made aware of the situation and Group owners need their members help so this can be dealt with properly. Needless to say, what this person is doing is illegal. I wanted to pass this information along to you in hopes to help and the Groups being affected by this. I would like to add just one small note to this. The person that is doing this generally s to a group with an email address very similar to the group name. For example, I own a group for horse stationery, in my group he/she d under the email addy of ygcache-horse_stats@gawab com. If you own a group, look for email addresses like this that have d recently.
