Guest guest
Hi Barbara, When I read what you wrote about your snacking problem something you said really 'spoke' to me. Thanks for your thought provoking comments. >>>>>Cut up veggies and apples to use to cut the calories, will help. I know I need to just NOT eat, but this is unlikely, so I am trying to make healthy lower cal., substitutions.<<<<< I think many of us fail with dieting because we see the whole process as being too difficult and a negative experience which involves things we can't eat and do. The very word 'not' evokes negativity and puts us in the wrong frame of mind for the taking on the challenge towards a healthier lifestyle. In any case, 'not eating' is not an long term option as we need to eat to live. Rather than 'not eating' we have to learn to eat differently. The challenge as I see it is to eliminate the negatives from our mind. Instead of thinking of our journeys in terms of what we can't/shouldn't eat or do I think we would all benefit if we could swing those negatives around to positive thoughts. Here are just a few examples of what I mean. Think about what we can eat - there are so many delicious foods which are good for us too positive changes we can make - for example, challenging ourselves to learn new lower fat cooking techniques the positive benefit to our health improved appearance the fun of taking up a new from of exercise/sport Once again, thank you for setting my mind working to think positively. It was just the boost I needed. Cheers from Marie --- On Wed, 4/3/09, BARBARA KIPPER <Kipper38 wrote: BARBARA KIPPER <Kipper38 Weight this week Fighting it! " VEGSlim " Wednesday, 4 March, 2009, 7:27 PM Hi, I knit in the evening when I watch TV, and do some small things with paper art like doodling and cutting paper out for projects. This does help, but having snack foods...which I was supposed to, and MUST, get out of the house, call to me. Cut up veggies and apples to use to cut the calories, will help. I know I need to just NOT eat, but this is unlikely, so I am trying to make healthy lower cal., substitutions. ..
