Hi Anna,

 

Thank you so much for your efforts in looking up this information.  I really

appreciate your help.  We Aussies have to stick together!!  I was born in

Melbourne longer ago than I care to think about (as a clue, I can vividly

remember attending the Olympic Games in 1956) and moved to Adelaide in 1978

where I lived until coming to the Netherlands in 1998.

 

I was quite excited about the possibility of locating Vital Wheat Gluten or a

similar product here so I checked out the links but sadly it doesn't seem as

if I will be able to get it here retail from either of these suppliers.  Both

links are only wholesale with a minimum order of 20 metric tons (slightly more

than I anticipate needing LOL).  I'm not sure who would buy this but I assume

the main customers would be the big bakeries.  Hopefully some of it may find

its way to the health food shops though. 

 

I have a vegetarian friend here in Holland who loves cooking and baking.  She

and I often share tips on where to get hard to find ingredients.  Sadly for me

though she happens to have a gluten intolerance so I doubt she can help me out

with this quest.

 

What I am planning to do is print off the picture and take it with me when I

next go searching.  At least that way I can prove that what I have been asking

for does actually exist.  Up until now I have met with nothing but totally

blank and/or disbelieving stares when I have asked for the product. Another

thing I am going to do is ring or e-mail the supplier and ask if they can give

me an idea of where it might be available in retail quantities.

Marie, in Australia it¹s called by a different name ‹ instead of Vital Wheat

Gluten, ours is just called Gluten Flour. So I thought maybe it¹s called

something else in Holland. So I searched and found these links that might
