Guest guest
Tofu Gravy Source: Jennifer D. 2 blocks of firm tofu 2 T McKays Chicken style seasoning (or Bill's Best Chicknish) 1/3 + C cashews, toasted on a dry skillet boiling water, about 2 cups 1-2 t onion powder 1 1/2 T corn starch salt to taste 1 T brewer's yeast flakes Boil the tofu squares in water, to cover, with the chicken style seasoning until the water is very low, about 20 minutes. Meanwhile, after toasting the cashews, (you can also use raw, but they taste better toasted to us) put them in a blender with one cup boiling water, the corn starch and seasonings, except brewer's yeast. Blend until creamy and smooth, then add another cup of water. Put in a skillet or pan and heat, add brewer's yeast flakes and the tofu with seasoned water, as long as there isn't too much. Heat until the proper thickness that you like over toast. Add water if needed, or a little corn starch mixed with cold water if it is too thin. Season more to taste. Eat over toast or brown rice. Makes a filling and healthy breakfast.
