Guest guest
Most supermarkets carry long grain and many carry short grain brown rice. These will probably be more like the rice dh is used to, although tastier. A splash of oil or vegan margerine will help. You also might try adding chopped garlic when cooking or chopped onions when serving (particularly with beans). Boiling may produce a texture that is more like what he is used to. - susanlizme Thursday, June 09, 2005 10:22 AM Brown Rice....helping dh to learn to like it!! I use a rice cooker with brown rice, but dh doesn't like the texture. The only brown rice is basmati near us. DH knows he needs more fiber, and will eat it, but doesn't like it. We just steam it and light salt. We don't tend to use any to little oil in cooking at all, what can I do to help him like the brown rice. He is hispanic, and grew up with enriched Goya rice every day. Help!!
