Guest guest
Hang in there! I'm sure the weight will move toward more healthy soon. Judy On Behalf Of The Dragon I seem to have got back into a habit of checking my food intake and actually eating enough! If I can stick with it for a few more weeks the weight should hopefully start to come off. Guest guest
Thanks Judy! I think I have (finally!) found the right level of food (Oriental seems to be doing the trick, very low fat, PACKED with fresh crisp veggies and tofu .... oh and seriously tasty!) Guest guest
Hi Dragon ~ I'm glad to hear that you are doing well with eating! I understand about the being stuck. I hit a plateau I couldn't break for 4 weeks or so. Finally dropped another 5.5 lbs this last week so I'm happy bout that. Though frustrating, plateaus are better than gaining at least. :-) Cindi --- On Mon, 4/20/09, The Dragon <dragonsteeluk wrote: The Dragon <dragonsteeluk Monday, Monday :-) " Fly Dieters " <flydieters >, " Lynda Renney " <ljrenney, onehundredplussupport , " RC_Hip_thigh " <Rosemary-Conley_Hip_and_Thigh, " vegetarian slimming " <vegetarianslimming >, " wanna lose it " <wannaloseit >, " Witchy Weight Loss " <Witchy_Weight_Loss > Monday, April 20, 2009, 9:03 AM My weight is static at around 306 pounds, I am not unduly unhappy with this (I mean obviously I would prefer to be around half that but still!), the reason I am not unhappy is because I seem to have got back into a habit of checking my food intake and actually eating enough! One problem I seem to have is water retention around my ankles/lower legs and I want to find a herbal way of dealing with this - any ideas? Guest guest
My plateau has been about a year now . . . I don't want to eat less and I am eating the right stuff. That only leaves exercise, but even with walking 2.5 km per day, no change. Now that it is lighter in the morning my body is waking up earlier, and I am starting some yoga and weights when I get up, but I'm not sure what else to do at this point. I do not have a lot to lose. 15 lbs would get me down to a nice healthy BMI. But it's a little discouraging. Guest guest
For me, the little extras jump start the loss. Unless it is raining, I find THE FARTHEST parking spot, in any lot. I always take the stairs, even in heels, and I do things during commercial breaks. I have a weighted hula hoop that I use during commercials sometimes. I also dust or vacuum (things that I wouldn't normally do! LOL) Cassie " life's a garden, dig it! Guest guest
Hi Pam ~ How long have you been doing the yoga and weights? Maybe it just hasn't been long enough to see a change. But at the least, I'm sure you're feeling better! I imagine being at a plateau for a year is a bit discouraging but that's really good management on your part. I've been on a (slooooooooow) steady incline with periods of plateaus but at least I'm still losing. One of my goals for 2009 is to lose 60 pounds. I felt the need to aim for a tangible number. So far I've only lost 12 pounds this year, but in all I'm 38 lighter then when I was at my heaviest a year and half ago. For me, since I'm heavier, even adding a bit more exercise in my routine really makes a difference. I just have to get up and out. Having a dog helps, he keeps me company on walks and bike rides and makes me talk interact with strangers. :-) Cindi --- On Tue, 4/21/09, pdw <pdworkman wrote: pdw <pdworkman Re: Monday, Monday :-) Tuesday, April 21, 2009, 1:21 PM My plateau has been about a year now . . . Guest guest
Hi Cassie. I also started parking further away. Those extra steps sure do help! I finally got a new job and it's about a 6 minute walk from my house. I come home for lunch too so that's an extra 24 minutes of walking M-F. And since I sit in front of the computer I take two breaks and walk around the greenbelt during the day. Except today, it was 94 here! :-) Cindi --- On Tue, 4/21/09, Cassie Dixon <roxy87cabriolet wrote: Cassie Dixon <roxy87cabriolet Re: Monday, Monday :-) " " Tuesday, April 21, 2009, 7:47 PM For me, the little extras jump start the loss. Guest guest
Not long this time, but on and off over the past few years. I am able to do more when it is light earlier, I suffer from SAD during the winter and need a lot more sleep. On the plus side I didn't gain weight over the winter, over holidays, on a three week road trip, etc. Pam On Tue, Apr 21, 2009 at 9:27 PM, Cindi <cindi93069 wrote: > > > Hi Pam ~ > How long have you been doing the yoga and weights? Guest guest
Forget parking farther away, get on your bike and pedal those fat cells away. I have a long crossbar if you want to jump on mine. I did a great industrial archeology hike in North East Wales on Tuesday with another vegan. The walk was gentle enough and only 5 miles. What burned calories was the 14 miles cycle ride to get to my friend's house - all uphill! But then to go home I was able to wheeeeeeee all the way. I'm on twitter now - mainly to do with writing and editing but if you want to follow me then I am at http://twitter.com/geoffnelder eat well Geoff
