Guest guest Posted July 3, 2006 Report Share Posted July 3, 2006 Poached Pears 4 firm pears 1 1/2 cups apple -OR- orange juice 1/2 cup sugar 1. Peel pears, keeping the stem on each if possible. 2. Put peeled pears in a saucepan along with the apple or orange juice and sugar. Cover and cook very gently until pears are tender. 3. Transfer pears to serving dishes.
