Cinnamon Applesauce

From The Best Slow Cooker Cookbook Ever

Makes ABOUT 3 1/2 CUPS

3 1/2 pounds Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1. In a 3 1/2-quart electric slow cooker, toss together the apples,

brown sugar, and lemon juice.

2. Cover and cook on the high heat setting 3 hours, or until the

apples are very tender. Mash the apples with a potato masher. Stir in

the cinnamon. Serve warm, at room temperature, or cold.

For a special treat, serve the warm applesauce over non-dairyice cream

and drizzle jarred a (gf)caramel-like sauce on top.
