Guest guest
LOL! it's true! we texans love the heat! i remember one of my brothers and i having jalapeno eating contest with my dad and we were pretty young. my brother who was about 5 at the time was more adventurous than me and could hang with my dad....i couldn't. it really wasn't until my mid-20's that i got to be a full blown chilehead. a few years ago, i took my son to texas and we stayed with my parents for several weeks. my dad and i were eating some vegetarian summer rolls that we had fixed and we were putting lots of fresh sliced serranos on them. my dad commented that i had become quite the chile eater....he was so proud...you could see it in his eys. lol. my son and i visted texas again this summer. my dad and i went to this thai restaurant across the street from the u. of texas in austin and he ordered the hottest thing on the menu. tears were streaming down his face as he ate his super-duper hot thai noodle soup. all the time he was dousing his soup with more hot chile sauce! he's my hero! susie --- ~ PT ~ <patchouli_troll wrote: > i really like some spice in my food, too... > though not as much as you probably. *lol* > Shawn and Susie here love spicy foods, but > they are from Texas and i think they are all born > loving spicy food down there. i heard they put > jalapeno juice in their baby bottles! *jk* FareChase: Search multiple travel sites in one click. http://farechase. Guest guest
Which Thai place? Mama Sans is good. Have you been to Veggie Heaven? It's so good! It's almost on the corner of Gualupe and MLK...Next to a bunch of other Thai and Korean places with bubble teas and stuff. I like veggie heaven cause i know it's all vegetarian and mostly vegan. ~Mel --- " artichoke72x " <artichoke72x wrote: > LOL! it's true! we texans love the heat! > > i remember one of my brothers and i having jalapeno > eating contest with my dad and we were pretty young. > > my brother who was about 5 at the time was more > adventurous than me and could hang with my dad....i > couldn't. > it really wasn't until my mid-20's that i got to be > a > full blown chilehead. a few years ago, i took my > son > to texas and we stayed with my parents for several > weeks. my dad and i were eating some vegetarian > summer rolls that we had fixed and we were putting > lots of fresh sliced serranos on them. my dad > commented that i had become quite the chile > eater....he was so proud...you could see it in his > eys. lol. my son and i visted texas again this > summer. my dad and i went to this thai restaurant > across the street from the u. of texas in austin and > he ordered the hottest thing on the menu. tears > were > streaming down his face as he ate his super-duper > hot > thai noodle soup. all the time he was dousing his > soup with more hot chile sauce! he's my hero! > > susie > > --- ~ PT ~ <patchouli_troll wrote: > > > i really like some spice in my food, too... > > though not as much as you probably. *lol* > > Shawn and Susie here love spicy foods, but > > they are from Texas and i think they are all born > > loving spicy food down there. i heard they put > > jalapeno juice in their baby bottles! *jk* > > > > > > FareChase: Search multiple travel sites in > one click. > http://farechase. > Start your day with - Make it your home page! http://www./r/hs
