New on list

I'm new on the list. I'm a 30-year vegetarian (come Jan. 2006). I'm an

animal freak, having had many cat and dog friends over the years. They

are my family! I signed up on the list because I'm sick of doctors

telling me I have the wrong body or blood type to be a vegetarian. I'm

middle aged, and have some health issues, but so do many middle-aged

meat-eaters. I'm interested in whatever research might be out there

into health problems and vegetarianism.

I live in Milwaukee, WI.

Hi, Mary!

I'm also new to the list and I'm enjoying it very much! I hope you

find what you are seeking. I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're

having with your doctors. We are very blessed to have a doctor who is

very supportive and informed about being vegetarian but I went through

many doctors before this one that were the complete opposite. Best of

luck to you!

Check out the web page Physicians for Responsible Medicine, they have GREAT

infor that you are looking for

www.prm.org <http://www.prm.org> they have wonderful print resources, videos

etc.. I have used them to teach workshops to teachers of vegetarian

students.. and they are wonderful to use to 'convince' anyone that you CAN

live as a Vegetarian!
