Guest guest
That is such a bummer, Shelly. So sorry you are having a tough time with tough lentils. i think you should probably not put any of the seasonings in the recipes you make until those lentils are cooked. Also do use the bottled water, and increase the cooking time. If the crockpot recipe is chosen because you want to convenience of dumping all the ingredients in and leaving to do stuff, you may want to precook lentils ahead of time for the recipe, or use canned lentils. i should think it is more economical to use dried than canned, and i am certain you can cook up large batches and freeze them in smaller portions; i do this with pinto beans all the time. Hope this helps; you are getting some wonderful thoughful advice from other members. i am confident we will get this sussed for you since we are determined and all putting our heads together! Those lentils don't have a chance with our collective force of will. *lol* :::sending you lentil-softening good wishes::: ~ pt ~ Splitting dry kindling on a damp November day-- wind-chimes tinkling. ~ Michael P.
