Guest guest
hi mary and welcome! i agree with what others have told you....doctors, in general don't know much about nutrition...even chiropractors (although they are prolly more knowledgeable than conventional drs.). i have a degree in anthropology and i can appreciate the theory about eating certain foods based on the evolution of bloodtypes. d'adamo (one of the main proponents of the bloodtype diet and author of several books on the subject) is actually a vegetarian. anyway, the idea that blood type o is the oldest bloodtype and that it originated in ancient hunter-gatherers is interesting, but it fails to mention that those ancient peoples subsided mainly on foods (roots, seeds, nuts, berries, etc....) that were gathered. meat wasn't eaten everyday in most cases. there are big differences between modern humans and ancient people.....we have more food options, food is more readily available, and we have more sources of protein.....we have choices. i'm type o negative and grains don't seem to bother me. i have found that i feel better when i avoid diary products and sugar. you know your body better than any doctor.....do what makes you feel best. glad to have you here, susie --- Agney Grace <mrfrank wrote: > I'm new on the list.
