Guest guest
Pot Pie Recipe This is a general recipe and works for large or small quantities so you can use whatever you have on hand 1 onion diced 2-3 ribs celery diced 2 carrots diced 2 potatoes diced 1 pkg seitan (this is in faux chicken flavored) tear this into chunks butter or oil and flour for thickening poultry seasoning, thyme, McKay's Bouillon chicken flavored(vegetarian) I also use green peas, green beans, and whatever other vegetable that sounds good in this. Sauté onions, carrots and celery in the butter and then add the flour to create a roux, add enough water to cover and season with the bouillon and the poultry seasoning. Add the seitan and it's juices too. Add the potatoes --- and simmer till vegetables are tender. Cool for a bit then put into a casserole and top with your favorite pie crust and bake till crust is done. I use a whole wheat crust but you don't have to. I will post that one later. This makes a great pot pie and you can use the beef seitan and the McKay's Beef Bouillon if you feel like a beef pot pie! My husband who was a meat eater loved this stuff he would eat this by the bowls full. Linda May the sun bring you new strength by day And the moon softly restore you at night. May the rain wash away your fears And the breeze invigorate your being. May you, all the days of your life, Walk gently through the world and know it's beauty. Guest guest
Mmmmm, yummy! thanks Linda! My dh and I were going thru the frozen food aisle Sunday afternoon and wistfully gazing upon the pot pie section. Now we won't have to gaze...well, at least as soon as I find the seitan, we won't have to, any longer. ! Sounds delectable, thank you so much!
