Guest guest
I went up I5 the first of October coming back from CA. I thought I stayed in Grants Pass...there was a La Quinta right off of the freeway and they sent me to Market of Choice just a few blocks down the road. If I didn't stay there where did I stay? Medford? Roseburg? I was so thankful for the Market of Choice where I knew I could get Vegan foods. If it was Grants Pass, and I think it was, too bad you lost that. However, you could use a Starbucks because where ever it was I stayed they didn't have one. <grinning> My great-great grandparents settled in Grants Pass in the 1800's and then my great grandparents were married there. I love that area. linda " Whatever you do will be insignificant and it is very important that you do it. Well, so far they have kept all the same vegan/ vegetarian foods in stock even though they changed the store name to Ray's. i do hope they will continue doing that. >However, you could use a Starbucks because where ever it was I stayed they > >didn't have one. <grinning> Well, the closest one is in Medford and we like that. i say this town is definately anti- " Charbucks " . *lol* This is Dutch Bros land and a haven for other small coffee houses, roasters, and drive-thru places. http://www.dutchbros.com/about/locations.jsp One of the coffeehouses downtown uses Starbucks beans, but they are still an independant so they don't make the Starbucks drinks in the exact Starbucks fashion if you know what i mean. Guest guest
When I was on the trip through CA I stayed at motels on the freeway and got my coffee at Starbucks because they were always right beside the motels and I would have gotten lost trying to find my way around. Here, at home, never go to Starbucks, but to wonderful local places. Bestest coffee. Glad to hear the new Ray's is keeping you stuffed. LOL I was given explicit directions to the Market of Choice/alias Ray's since I had a micro wave in the room and wanted FOOD! Then I trundled straight back to the motel and cozied up there. Popped popcorn in the micro wave and it started to smoke big time trying to catch on fire. Raced it to the bathroom while it was trying to go up in flames, threw it into the sink and then noticed there was a smoke detector in there! Raced it back out, tore it open dumping it into the trash can and it finally went out. I was horrified. I did do another package though, but jerked the door open when it barely had slowed down and had a few popped kernels. It was a fiasco. Oh, by the way, I went and looked in the mirror and that bluish cast is reddish actually. linda " Whatever you do will be insignificant and it is very important that you do it. Guest guest
Good news/bad news about Ashland. Bad news, we have 3 Starbucks. Good news, our McDonald's, Dairy Queen and Pizza Hut all went out of business - too much real food to eat here.... , " ~ PT ~ " <patchouli_troll> wrote: > > , " linda " <lindai81@c...> wrote: > >However, you could use a Starbucks because where ever it was I stayed they > > >didn't have one. <grinning> > > Well, the closest one is in Medford and we like that. > i say this town is definately anti- " Charbucks " . *lol* > This is Dutch Bros land and a haven for other small > coffee houses, roasters, and drive-thru places. > http://www.dutchbros.com/about/locations.jsp > One of the coffeehouses downtown uses Starbucks > beans, but they are still an independant so they > don't make the Starbucks drinks in the exact > Starbucks fashion if you know what i mean. > Support your local coffee indies! > :::coffeemug salute:::
Guest guest
All of those went out? Wow! That is pretty cool for the size of Ashland. Amazing really. We, on the other hand have too many McDonald's to count. I think maybe only one Dairy Queen and Pizza Hut but don't know really. Just that McDonald's kind of stand out to me...and there is one in the large mall here. linda " Whatever you do will be insignificant and it is very important that you do it.
