Guest guest
I have found a lot of the recipes from vegan/vegetarian books to taste perfectly awful. At the potlucks here people tend to bring dishes that they have gotten from cookbooks and so some of the dishes are perfectly awful too. LOL I cook by the seat of my pants having adapted beginning recipes way back when to suit my children and then later to suit me. It seems like a lot of the recipes are trying to be " healthy " too. I buy all organic, but that is about all I do to bow to the health food stuff. I figure I am alive, enjoying it, and want to continue to do so and not worry about how long that will be. Since going vegan my cholesterol dropped to 127 where it had been very high on the vegetarianism. No blood pressure problems, absolutely no medications, but I know that I am lucky and blessed so far. But health wasn't why I went vegan, but is sure a nice benefit if they are right about cholesterol contributing to heart attacks. linda " Whatever you do will be insignificant and it is very important that you do it. " Mohandas Gandhi linda's Growing Stitchery Projects: womyn47 - thelilacflower I have both of her Uncheese books and I give them about 3 stars out of 10. Susie and I talked about these books months ago. So many of the recipes taste simply awful. Recipes seem off, too much yeast, etc. If you go th Amazon.Com and look this book up you will see the other comsumers say about the same thing. I have posted her Eggplant Parmesan in my group files, that's about the only recipe I found to be worth while. There are so many books out there that have much better results when you try a recipe. Hope this helped, Donna
