store requests ~ Safeway

That is a classic example, Tom. They will finally

get the item you have requested they carry so

you can buy all your desired foods in one location,

but then they jack up the price.... when nobody is

dumb enough to buy it they will shrug and stop

carrying it feeling justified that there really was

no demand for the product since nobody bought

any. *shakes head*

Another thing they [other stores, not just Safeway] do

is put the vegetarian items in weird locations so you

don't find them in a logical manner while shopping.

i've been to stores that put the vegetarian lunch " meats "

in the produce section, instead of in the deli cheese area

one would expect to find it. i have also found soy milks

kept in odd places away from the dairy case. :)

this is my biggest complaint, finding the stuff in larger stores. No rhyme or

reason as far as I can tell. I suppose their idea is to get us to do impulse

buying while we are searching. They have another thing coming. I leave. When I

ask a clerk where something is and they haven't a clue why stay?

Ya know, if they could at least be consistent in every store with the

odd placements, I wouldn't have a problem. LOL. :)

Every store is a challenge though. It's like I have burned into my

head several strange locations these products can be. If I find one

of these products within my first 3 aisle guesses and within 10

minutes I feel I should win something! :)

I've heard that certain industries pay stores to not have the

vegetarian/vegan subsititutes and products not displayed next to their

products. Don't know if this is true.

Just find it amusing that I have to go through a Maze Craze to find

them suckers! :)
