So, you cross stitch too or spoofing me? Evil people come to evil ends...didn't your mommy tell you that? I had my coffee and my books and magazines. Was reading Jane Goodall's new book. I couldn't help myself...bought it to the tune of $24.95 so I took the Now and Zen Un- Turkey back for a refund. Now tomorrow the family will be having canned soup. Maybe water and bread. Oh, by the way, I love the quotes you always add. I love the one below...stay in the moment and you will discover such delights. > linda

And now the goddesses are retaliating...I got run over by a cold yesterday and I am so pissed. Why? Cause the darn sun is out today and the sky is blue and I shouldn't go out and expose the world to this cold...Irritate me and I may sneeze, cough, blow nose in their presence. Hope you are seeing the sun too down there. You are a little slow on the response...I should have taken the unturkey back and eaten the book. And someone should have warned me about the disgusting texture of the Now and Zen. Well, off to blow nose....poor thing looks read...Maybe I am Rudolph in disguise. linda (who is still chewing Zen's crust) " Whatever you do will be insignificant and it is very important that you do it. Guest guest
::::hands linda a kleenex::: i may be joining you on this cold thing. i thought it was just allergies, but the jury is still out. Yes, i am a bit behind. i took a break from the computer for Thanksgiving and yesterday i didn't turn it on either. Never fails that when i do that susie goes and files over 50 of our recipes! [thanks susie] My inbox had over 120 messages... so i was going thru them in order. i think i will abandon my idea to try the now & zen unturkey. It sounds really gross. Quorn brand or Tofurkey from here on out. Did you get the Thanksgiving issue of Vegetarian Times? They have a really interesting sounding recipe for a tofu turkey. I t seems a tad time consuming, but looks to make a lot. The picture was weird though, but that was more due to the way the ladies that made it decorated the thing. ~ pt ~ Those who dwell, as scientists or laymen, among the beauties and mysteries of the earth are never alone or weary of life. Guest guest
Thanks for the kleenex...it had perfume on it though and now I am sneezing again. Nice try! Yes, well yesterday when it started I thought it was an allergy too...I just started sneezing uncontrollable and endlessly and everyone was laughing...we were in the car with no kleenex. I swore it wasn't a cold, just an allergy. Wrong again. I have been wrong all week long. Damn, hope my streak of " wrongedness " changes soon or I will have to join the backyard mole in his den. I shall keep my fingers crossed that for you it is indeed just an allergy. I will have to look at the Vegetarian Times...I am sure that I did see it and if it was complicated or long dismissed it. I don't usually buy it as it has only a few vegan recipes in it and I do get exasperated with having to substitute all of the time...I am lazy as you can tell. I would love to be able to try the Quorn since everyone brags about how good it is, (which is very unkind to do) but it isn't vegan. Besides that dear, if you hadn't noticed TG is over so making a tofu turkey is now a bit outdated. Onward and upward I always say. linda (kachoo) (or sneeze to you) " Whatever you do will be insignificant and it is very important that you do it. Guest guest
Well, we do have the xmas/yule dinner to contend with, so all hope is not lost. We can talk turkey substitutions for another month yet! *lol* The recipe did look a bit labor intensive.... but not overly so. If i remember right one had to press the tofu mixture in some cheesecloth overnight to get all excess moisture out and to give the tofu-turkey the proper texture. A lentil or TVP loaf recipe would be easier and likely just as tasty for the holiday feast. That is what i plan to do this year for Yule. ~ pt ~ As they swoop, drift, and glide, inscribing magnificent patterns across the sky, birds are serene displays of grace and beauty.
