Guest guest
My Maxie cat loves to eat the seeds from catalope, if I don't remember to immediately put them in the compost bin. He loves all manner of human food.... Do you use a flea comb on your kitties? I have had infestations of fleas in the past, not lately. Once I rescued a kitten in my backyard. He had fleas eating him alive--his fur was black from the skin out to the ends of the fur on his neck (and he was a red kitty). I gave him about 10 baths before I sent him to a friend. He still had fleas when he got there, but I don't know if I had a flea comb back then. She eventually got rid of the fleas, and Sunny lived to about age 14-15, despite his rough start. I became chemically injured, partially as the result of using flea bombs and anti-flea chemicals back in the 1980's before I knew any better. I have spent thousands of dollars on non-traditional health care, undoing the damage. Now, if I did have fleas, I would use my flea comb. I've been fortunate, though. Even with dogs, neither the cats nor dogs have had fleas in a long time....knock on wood! mrf > > > mine are total indoor too but Shrek had been outdoors when I first got > > him. Oh, yes, flea comb, few drops of eucalyptus oil in the corners of the rooms, (closets too) renewed every 3-4 months, weekly move the funiture vacuum of every inch of floor ( fortunatly it's a tiny house, love seat the biggest piece of furniture LOL ). try to vacuume their favorite spots to sleep every day or at least every other day, with 6 need to do it daily. they also get brewers yeast/garlic tablets ground up with the pumpkin seeds. forget which part of b-12 fleas don't like but it's in the brewers yeast. When fleas were bad salted the carpet too, dry mopped it to get the salt down into the nap and then vacuumed - salt kills the eggs. have read spraying salt water on carpet works well too but haven't tried it. Still have a few fleas but nothing like it was!! Peace, Angela who I am is fine, it's just this body that's disabled! middle age = that time of life when we realize yesterday's sex, drugs and rock and roll are todays memories, prescriptions and golden oldies! Guest guest
Phew--you've got a lot of work to do. About 10-12 years ago, before I got really bad with my environmental illness, my tenant upstairs had a woman living up there with her. The woman went and picked up a bed off the street and it had fleas in it. She brought it into the house and of course the fleas got all over. To make matters worse, she then flea-bombed upstairs, even though I had warned her not to. She did it when I wasn't home and all my poor critters *and I) were exposed to whatever came through the floor from upstairs. I hope it wasn't much, but suspect it did filter down. I found out about it later. A year or so after that, my chemical sensitivity got really bad. I now live in my whole house, so I don't have to worry about odd tenant behavior. Just the cats, dogs and me--it's great! mrf Angela wrote: > " Mary R. Frank " <mrfrank wrote: > > Do you use a flea comb on your kitties? > > > Oh, yes, flea comb...
