Guest guest
Couple of suggestions that I got from the vet. Tuna fish and baby food. Get the small jars of baby food, meat of course, just the ones without the veggies. If she won't eat this get an eyedropper, mix the meat with water until kind of runny and feed it to her through the side of her mouth. You may need to have someone help you. Do this also with water if you don't see her drinking. The other thing to try is get some tuna fish and see if she will eat that...then slowly add some of her food to it. Fish is very addictive to cats and although not really good for them, it can help a cat over the hump. Try this fish thing first. If you have a Trader Joe's there they have a tuna just for cats. Otherwise any cheap kind of tuna will work. Then the baby food. You have to get her to eat. And keep her drinking. Check her litter box for both urine and " poop. " You can't wait long for a cat not eating or drinking or you/she are in serious trouble. And it sounds like she is definitely in trouble. Try these things immediately. They are simple and cheap. Keep her warm, keep her close to you so that she will feel loved and sometimes that will help too! Let us know how it is going and I am so sorry. linda " Whatever you do will be insignificant and it is very important that you do it. " Mohandas Gandhi linda's Growing Stitchery Projects: womyn47 - nadiana1 well, she seems to have taken a turn for the worse now. she's not wanting to eat the raw stuff; i mixed some other food into it, and she ate that, but she's weak and seems to be losing strength in her back legs. i gave her some subcutaneous fluids for her kidneys and tried to hand-feed her. she tried to jump up on the couch but didn't make it, and fell; usually when she falls, she gets right back up, but now she just lies on her side for a while. i had to pick her back up. i've already spent a few thousand dollars in vet bills on her this year-- i'm in ridiculous debt now-- and he doesn't ever seem to do much for her, and i don't have the money to take her there again, or to another one. i don't know what to do. i think she's dying. melody http://www.flawlessfitness.com http://www.melodysmusic.net
Guest guest
well, the good news is, she ate well this morning and seems to be in better spirits again. i think she may have hurt one of her back legs, although it doesn't seem to bother her when i touch it-- it's just that she's walking really oddly on her back legs. i'm going to keep an eye on her and if it doesn't get better, i guess i'll have to take her back to the vet. she came out of her hiding spot to get combed this morning, and she's been using the litterbox, which is good news. ugh. this is incredibly stressful. thanks for your kind words and support. melody http://www.flawlessfitness.com http://www.melodysmusic.net
