Guest guest
PT asked if Robertsons had a website on the label. Robertsons have a website, but not much good for your/our purposes. It's www.robertsons.co.uk This is more helpful - http://www.bri-al.com/robertson.htm I might add that in Canada 'Ginger' is on the label in large type in both English and below that in French 'Gingembre' and the words Ginger Marmalade appear in fine print on the stripe of the label below left. On the website here, it is called 'Ginger Preserves'. Take your pick what to call it - it's always been Ginger Marmalade to us and it is scrumptious :=) (IF you like ginger, of course!) Another site: http://www.englishteastore.com/rojamma.html which gives prices for those who wonder just how much it costs to be scrumptious. Robertsons used to put out a sample pack of several jams and marmalades in a gift-type box at some exorbitant price for the privilege of having those cute little jars. They do however make a lovely gift for the anglophiles among your acquaintance. And yes I know that Robertson was a Scot, but the label says product of England. The old label, for those who are interested in history, had a picture of a child's golliwog doll on it in the days before the world worried about insulting people belonging to minority groups. For years we boycotted all their products for that reason. That has happily been replaced for some time now. Geeeeee. And all you asked for was a website! Best love, Pat ________ DSL – Something to write home about. Just $16.99/mo. or less. dsl.
Guest guest
Ginger preserve is currently my favourite jam, although strangely I've never seen any made by Robertsons over here in Scotland - perhaps they only make it for export. It's great on toast but I also like to add a teaspoonful to Greek-style yoghurt and sprinkle flakes of chocolate on top. Christie (if this is a duplicate post I apologise as my internet connection crashed when I tried to post it the first time)

Guest guest
Dear Pat, I, for one, love tidbits of history about things. So the story about the golliwog doll really piqued my interest and enhanced the whole anecdote. :>) Thank you so much!
