Guest guest
Well, just bought an airplane ticket and I am on my way...better have the cold pizza and the coffee on the table. It had best be vegan though. <grinning> linda " Whatever you do will be insignificant and it is very important that you do it. " Mohandas Gandhi linda's Growing Stitchery Projects: womyn47 - southernflower I was puzzling over that too. When I was a teen, one of the favorite breakfasts in our church youth group was cold pizza. :>) Maybe just not in Linda's part of the country is this common, perhaps? Come over to Georgia, Texas, and Oklahoma, Linda: cold pizza is normal in these parts! <g> Bron (of course, not VEGAN pizza...which I had no clue to in those days, myself...I'm sure that I'd be looked on as strange for vegan pizza, and maybe that's the real deal?) Guest guest
Sorry, don't have any coffee, Linda; we're tea lovers here at our house. :>) We had a great Amy's vegan pizza the other night. Actually, I ate most of it. I was ill with a bad cold, and dh went to the store and found this wonderful roasted vegetable pizza there at Kroger's, brought it home, baked it and ate one piece. I fell upon the rest of it and devoured it! It was pretty pricey...7 bucks for a medium (small?) pizza. I do so wish that Real Food was not so expensive. I am very grateful that dh's new job affords us a much better diet, both conscience/morals wise and healthwise. But before now we were having a really hard time trying to go vegan due to the $$$ aspect. Please withhold flames on the next statement: dh put cheese on the pizza and it was good! Although...I know it likely didn't help my cold any. But yeah, I could make a vegan pizza with no trouble. And plan to soon. I hope to get some soycheese before making the pizza. But if you'd like yours sans soycheese, here's what I'd fix it with: wholewheat/flaxmeal crust (homemade) olive oil brushed on top of the crust sauteed portabello slices (in aforesaid olive oil) (organic) black olives, sliced green bell peppers jarred red peppers, drained sauteed, rather brown, onion rings sauteed garlic cloves, minced For a taco pizza, I'd put all the above, plus " no frieds " blackbeans (pureed in a blender with garlic powder and onion powder, plus a little water), tomato wedges, and a sprinkle or two of cumin over all. And add the soycheese. And then more cumin. Mmmm! I'm makin' myself hungry. :>) I guess I might better make two of each, huh?
