Guest guest
I wonder if any of you could share your meal planning and shopping tips. I find that alot of recipes call for 5, 10, 15 types of veggies/ingredients and, unfortunately, I don't have room in my fridge for all of that or much time to plan what other recipes to use the excess in. I think part of my problem is the volume I need to cook in (family of 7) and that I can't shop daily for what I need. I do make good use of canned ingredients but still like to include fresh whenever possible. What do you think is a well stocked veg*n pantry? What types of items are good to have on hand? Thanks for any help you can give. Shelly
Guest guest
Great topic and questions, Shelly. i am sure many of us will benefit from the answers and sage advice of the members who will contribute to this thread. For myself, i have a basic pantry list that i have typed and put together for home. The source of the list came from several very helpful vegetarian cookbooks that offer pantry stocking suggestions. Linda McCartney's book 'Linda's Kitchen' is one and the other is Karri Allrich's 'Vegetarian Goddess'. i will post my list in a separate post to the group and also add it into the files under kitchen tips. For meal planning [when i have my act together *lol*] i really like to go through the files and cookbooks i have. From there i choose dishes to make and then check my pantry list and supplies to make a note of any other items i need. This goes to the store with me on shopping day. i have also found it very helpful to divide the weekdays by themes like Italian, Asian, Indian, comfort foods, soup & stew day etc. so we don't repeat flavors and textures too much. One of the great things about vegetarianism is the endless variety once one learns to think outside the box. ~ pt ~ They sicken of the calm who know the storm. ~ Dorothy Parker ~~~*~~~*~~~> , " Shelly " <anislandgirl@c...> wrote: > > I wonder if any of you could share your meal planning and shopping > tips. <snipped> > What do you think is a well stocked veg*n pantry?
