Yup.... nice piece of work... she covered all the bases.

There's many ways to do this. One way is to cook the seitan first using a

crockpot, and later cooking that with veggies. She's using ol' Ron

Pickarski's " quick seitan mix " which will work, although I prefer using

more source ingredients. Not knocking Ron's mix, though. I've found all

Robins recipes from several of her books quite reliable and on target.

I spent a couple of years finally getting some seitan recipes (from gluten

flour) down. Still haven't mastered the crockpot cooking of the original

seitan from flour in a crockpot reliably without having to mother it all,

but certainly making a stew with existing seitan and veggies is pretty

straightforward.

In any case, I can speak highly of Robertson's " Vegan Planet " recipe

collection (400?).... managed to get the Calzone recipe into " No More

Bull. " There's some really really good work in Vegan Planet and I can

certainly recommend it from personal use.

A google search on " seitan and crockpot " might yield some interesting

results, btw.

Best, Mark
