Guest guest
Neither bookstore here has the Native Foods cookbook. I was surprised. They can order it, but Borders wants $3 more and they won't honor the coupon on it. I ordered it from Barnes on approval as they are terrific about that. Hate to buy sight unseen. Been there, done that way too much! LOL Thanks for the suggestion. Are there some examples in the files on recipes from the book? Your tag line today...that is just the hardest thing for me...conditioning I suppose...but know it is true. Did you know that when the Dalai Lama was first asked about " low self-esteem " and how to deal with it he had no idea what it even was. After learning about it he said it didn't exist in his culture. Depression yes. He had some wise things to say about it though, as always. linda From 'The Native Foods' cookbook by Tanya Petrovna ISBN 1-59030-076-9 ~ pt ~ And no one will listen to us until we listen to ourselves. Guest guest
i can't say enough good about this book. The first 81 pages are tips, techniques, info on veganism, seitan- making, food definitions, glossary of cooking terms, etc. Just a wealth of well-written thought provoking information to delight the seasoned cook to the kitchen novice. Pgs. 85-315 are all full of wonderful vegan-easy recipes. They serve them in their restaurant, so all are time- tested tried & true. i have not had one flop from this book. The recipe titles are clever-fun, too. As far as what's in our files for you to check out... let me think. i haven't typed up many i have tried yet, but that Ranch i did today is awesome. Donna shared the Fleetwood Macaroni Salad here .... i tried it and it was that recipe that made me order the book; just wonderful. Check it out on amazon.com. That is where i bought my copy, and i was also impressed by the reviews. i see they have 53 new & used copies starting at $8.74. Go check out the reviews... ~ pt ~ When we assert intuition, we are... like the starry night; we gaze at the world through a thousand eyes. ~ Clarissa Pinkola EstŽs, 'Women Who Run With Wolves' ~~~*~~~*~~~> , " linda " <lindai81@c...> wrote: > > Neither bookstore here has the Native Foods cookbook. Guest guest
Yes, I did check the reviews and you could call them raves actually. Then I went to her site and was able to scan a few of her recipes. I ordered the book on approval, but in the meantime I will try a recipe or two from her site to see how they taste and turn out. Thanks for all of the suggestions and help. I am terribly stuffed by the way, always am, after joining this list. List members better have insurance 'cause I might sue them for the weight I am undoubtedly gaining. Or they could settle out of court with a new wardrobe for me. linda " Whatever you do will be insignificant and it is very important that you do it. Guest guest
PT can you imagine how good the food tastes fresh from the restaurant? I love this book. Having her takeout food sold me.
