That is an excellent idea. There are many dishes that

you can prepare in advance and freeze.

From my personal experience, dishes that contain

potatoes do not rethaw well. The potatoes have a

gummy texture. :(

i am not sure what your menu plans are, but most every

traditional holiday dish i fix can be made ahead and frozen,

just not the potatoes.

Making up some nice appetizers ahead and freezing

them is a good idea, too. Then you can put out a platter

for people to nibble on while you finish the main meal

cooking. Also, don't forget to involve your guests if your

kitchen space allows for it. i have found that people

enjoy helping in the kitchen, and it makes for a mose

inclusive party environment. :)
