Guest guest
For those of you that haven't had time to answer the weekly group questions, here they are: What holidays do you celebrate this time of year? Is there a traditional dish you have adapted to fit your vegetarian lifestyle? [Or perhaps there is a traditional dish you'd like suggestions for adapting to veg?] ~ pt ~ Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful. ~ Norman Vincent Peale

[Or perhaps there is a traditional > dish you'd like suggestions for adapting to veg?] We've never done the " big meal " thing for Christmas, so no adaptations here. We are considering buying a Tofurkey this year, though, out of curiosity. We always make a " Happy Birthday Jesus " cake, so this will be my first vegan cake. I am enjoying reading about everyone's celebrations. Shelly
Guest guest
We celebrate New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. We have lots of munchies around and maybe one large casserole and dessert. Can't recall anything that I have adapted from pre-vegetarian days. Of course have adapted all of my vegetarian dishes to vegan, but heck that was easy and no one needs any lessons in that particularly. Just ideas. Just substitute soy milk for milk, Earth Balance for butter, tofu for eggs or egg replacer depending on need, Agave Nectar, maple syrup, sucanat, organic sugars for regular sugars, brown and white, etc. It was an easy shift for me except I had to become adept at reading labels. linda " Whatever you do will be insignificant and it is very important that you do it.
