Do you break off pieces of the " brillo " or do you toss the whole wad in there all at once? ~ pt ~ When you live in Texas, every single time you see snow itÕs magical. ~ Pamela Ribon, Why Girls Are Weird, 2003 ~~~*~~~*~~~> , " linda " <lindai81@c...> wrote: > Are those cellaphane noodles what I call popcorn noodles? If you put them into hot oil they pop up and are absolutely wonderful on salads and on Asian salads in particular. My mother in law used to make a salad with mixed lettuces, mandarin and orange slices, cashews, and other fruits then pop the rice sticks up and put an Asian salad dressing over all...it was an enormous hit with everyone and so vegan. I'll send the recipe along behind this.
Guest guest
OMGoddess! ROFL...hmmm, now shall I tell you to dump the whole wad in so that your will have a tale to tell your grandchildren about the day you dumped an entire package of popcorn noodles in the oil and blew up the house? Tempting I must say. Why don't you break off a small hunk and put it into the hot oil and see what happens then you can go for whatever you think the pan will deal with since I don't know what size pan you will be using. Also, the noodles won't pop if they don't hit the oil and you have to then turn them over to get the oil to touch them. Use tongs for that. Just make sure the oil is hot though, so sometimes you have to stop to let the oil heat back up before putting in another batch. If you have kids around let them watch...they really get a kick out of it. linda " Whatever you do will be insignificant and it is very important that you do it.
