Guest guest
i just posted this over at QV2 today because some l ady asked for more no-bake cookie recipes. i think this is a lot like Lori's recipe, except mine uses sugar & cocoa powder instead of chocolate chipe. We always just dropped spoonfuls of the warm goo onto wax paper and let it harden. They do sort of look like cow pies. [*lol* @ Amy]. They are swee-eet! Chocolate Oatmeal No-Bakes 2 cups sugar 1/2 cup milk 1/4 cup butter 1/3 cup cocoa powder 3 cups rolled oats 1/2 cup shredded coconut 1/2 cup peanut butter 1 tsp. vanilla extract Combine the sugar, milk, butter and cocoa in a large cooking pot. Bring to a boil and the keep it at the boil for one full minute [very important]. Remove from heat. Mix in the remaining ingredients and stir to combine. Quickly drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper. Allow to cool and stiffen. Yield: about 30 cookies ~ pt ~ Every winter, When the great sun has turned his face away, The earth goes down into a vale of grief, And fasts, and weeps, and shrouds herself in sables, Leaving her wedding-garlands to decay-- Then leaps in spring to his returning kisses. ~ Charles Kingsley (1819 - 1875), Saint's Tragedy (act III, sc. 1)
