Guest guest
Here is a recipe i really like. i was going to make it this year using Vegennaise since i love that stuff way better than regular mayo. i also want to cut down on the parm cheese; never thought the recipe needed a whole cup anyway. i was thinking maybe grinding up fine a 1/2 cup of raw cashews to replace some of the parm cheese. What do you think? Any other suggestions? Artichoke Dip 1 (14-ounce) jar marinated artichoke hearts, drained and chopped 1 cup grated parmesan cheese 1 cup mayonnaise 1 (4-ounce) can diced green chilies 1 Tbs. chopped pimiento 1 tsp. minced garlic Combine all ingredients; bake uncovered at 350û for 30 minutes. Serve hot with crisp bread sticks or corn chips. Yield: 2 1/2 cups dip ~ pt ~ If songs could make you do something we'd all love one another. ~ Frank Zappa
Guest guest
Interesting recipe. Would nutritional yeast work do you think? Just have my first jar of the stuff and so haven't come up with how to use it actually so this is really a question. Otherwise I could substitute soymage parmesan cheese and cut back on it for sure since it is a tad expensive. Parmesan cheese is salty and so raw cashews might not have the flavor. I would end up at least toasting them. linda " Whatever you do will be insignificant and it is very important that you do it. Guest guest
Good ideas. Maybe i will sub in some tahini mixed with some nutri-yeast for a salty-cheesy flavor without all the fat and dairy. So you just bought nutri-yeast in a jar? i have never seen it in a jar before. i buy mine out of bulk bins at Fred Meyer. i am just guessing it is cheaper to buy it that way since most things are. i really like the flavor of it. ~ pt ~ Celebrate the happiness that friends are always giving. Guest guest
Oh, no, bought the nutritional yeast from the bin at Market of Choice, but then put it into a jar at home. Everything gets transferred to a jar here. Including children and animals. LOL They had some in a canister over in the health section to the tune of one arm and six legs. LOL I am not into throwing money out the window though. linda ~ PT ~ all the fat and dairy.
