That is interesting. i didn't realise there was such

a difference in nutritional value of those nutri-yeast

flakes & powders. i always just bought them for the

flavor though, so it was only an added benefit that

the stuff might actually be good for me.

i guess for a vegan you'd want to make sure you got

your B vitamins that you would not get in your regular

diet. Is there a big difference where the sources of B

vitamins in suppliments come from? i mean, are some

sources from animal protein while other sources are

not?

Also, does anyone know what source the B6 and B12

come from in those Emergen-C packets? i just love

them and wanted to know if they are vegan safe as well.

Thanks. :)

P.S. i saw linda's question about nutri-yeast, and if it

should be kept in the refrigerator. My answer would

be no. i have never heard it needed to be stored in

a the frigie. i would think that since active yeast packets

are fine in a cool dry pantry than that would apply to

nutri-yeast as well. However, i would be careful to keep

a fresh supply and make sure it was not stored anywhere

in direct sunlight. i know that is bad for herbs and other

seasonings; not that you'd have to worry about loads of

sun right now up in Eugene. *lol*
