Guest guest
I read the artichoke dip recipie and wondered: does veganaise taste like mayo? Never cared for it. so would soft tofu and some Red star yeast do? for Good - Make a difference this year. http://brand./cybergivingweek2005/
Guest guest
Hi Robyn, it is great to have you in the group. Yes, vegennaise mayo is the closest to tasting like real mayo of any of the vegan mayonnaise that i have tried. So if you do not like mayonnaise in general, you might not like Vegennaise. However, in this recipe, it does NOT taste mayonnaisy at all. The flavors of the other ingredients blend together to make a nice spreadable dip and it tastes more like artichoke and garlic to me. If you'd rather try just using tofu blended with some nutri-yeast go right ahead. i bet that would taste just fine. Let us know how it is if you do try that. One of the great things about cooking eachother's recipes is that we can try them different ways to suit our own tastes and then share the results; i have learned so much from everyone here. ~ pt ~ Humor is wit and love. - William Makepiece Thackeray , Robyn Lydick < mtngirlcanlove> wrote: > > I read the artichoke dip recipie and wondered: does > veganaise taste like mayo? > Never cared for it. so would soft tofu and some Red > star yeast do? Guest guest
Here's another idea about mixing and matching ingredients: I LOATHE artichokes in any form, so when I make this recipe, I'm gonna substitute sauteed portobellos for the artichokes. Yummy!
