Guest guest
I am so sorry to inform you but the second resolution to " stop dating idiots " is probably not within the realm of reality. <grinning> And it isn't you doll! LOL Something that I learned. It is cheaper and easier to skip the Masters degree and just jump to the doctoral degree. Why? Because, as you are finding out, getting funding for a Masters is nearly impossible except for the loans. However, apply for the doctoral degree and you have all of the funding that you want, get paid for it too, GTF (graduate teaching fellowship)...the masters is rolled into the doctoral degree. You don't have to get a masters to apply for the doctoral. Different fields, schools, have different requirements of course. Yes, it can take up to seven years to get it, however, that isn't true for all fields. Don't know what you are getting the grad degree in and you already probably know what I just told you. Some schools also have a terminal masters degree...that is you are admitted under the doctoral program, get the funding, and then decide that you don't want to do the doctoral...if you have completed the work for the masters you take what they call a " terminal masters. " Learned about it in the late 80's. Over the years the BS degrees have nearly become worthless when it comes to advancement or money and now the same thing appears to be happening with the masters. Not all fields of course. Ah, heck, just get the piece of paper from one of those paper mills. <chuckle> Past my bedtime. linda " Whatever you do will be insignificant and it is very important that you do it.
