Guest guest
Your resolutions sound just fine to me. Each day is a new begining, so i never understood those folks that get themselves all hung-up on guilt if they fall short one day. Just brush off your pants and get back up, i say! *lol* Now your backpacking trip sounds like fun; what a great way to bring in the New Year by being out in nature. Our new year's day was quite wet and cold for such adventures. What sorts of food did you take along to go with that bubbly? ~ pt ~ The language of friendship is not words but meanings. ~ Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862) ~~~*~~~*~~~> , " Amy " <sandpiperhiker> wrote: > Sometimes I do, and sometimes I don't. That's why I make the measurable so I can actually say I did it. > Now your backpacking trip sounds like fun; what a > great way to bring in the New Year by being out in > nature. Well, usually I cook at home and dehydrate, but haven't stocked up on anything since the big move out here, so I actually had to bring packaged food. :-( However, it was pouring rain, and cold, when we pitched the tent, and I wasn't hungry (having just eaten a bag of gorp), so I tucked myself up in my sleeping bag. Awoke a few of hours later to DH nudging me and opening the bubbly (Banfi Rosa Regale, a beautiful deep pink, slightly frizzante wine). I had two sips and went back to sleep, *lol*, what a partier I am. SOme of my hiking staples are done black bean " lasagna " , corn chowder, various bean & rice dishes...
