Thank you, Donna.

i saw a jar of the Old Bay Seasoning at Wal*Mart one

day while out shopping. i was thinking next time i am

out & about i will pick some up and then when it is

used up i will replace it with the homemade recipe

Marsha posted [maybe to a taste test comparison, too].

 

i bet this seasoning would make a great sandwich filler

when mixed with vegenaise, smashed chick peas, celery

and green onions. Mmmmm

1 tsp. cayenne pepper

1 tsp. gr.celery seed

1 tsp. sweet Hungarian paprika

1 tsp. dry mustard

1 tsp. gr. black pepper

1 tsp. gr. bay leaf

2 tsps. salt

1/4 tsp. gr. allspice

1/4 tsp. gr. ginger

1/4 tsp. gr. nutmeg

1/4 tsp. gr. cardamom

1/4 tsp. gr. cinnamon

1/4 to 1/2 tsp. kelp powder (optional if not available)

 

Mix all seasonings in a small bowl until well blended.

Place in a glass jar and store in the cupboard.

Has a very long shelf life.
