Guest guest
Why do you think this is true? linda ~ PT ~ Seems the people that love us the most, also have a harder time being nonjudgemental and tolerant of our differences. Guest guest
i don't think your choice to tell people beforehand that you are a vegetarian is rude at all. If anything i admire that you do this. Openness and honesty are wonderful qualities. i think the only time it crosses over to rudeness is when we demand special consideration of a host. But letting them know we are vegetarian is very polite, and then letting them choose how they want to handle that is up to them. If they don't want to change the menu or add any vegetarian dishes to it, then it is proper for us to skip the dinner part of the gathering or come afterwards in the way you do it; very thoughtful and considerate approach. Unfortunately, where i am at, i tend to be the only vegetarian. i wish it were different, but right now it is not. We just have to guage how we handle social situations to fit the atmosphere we live in. IMO, the responses have shown that none of us are rude, but rather very thoughtful about this topic because we have given it so much of our own time considering how best to be gentle and kind towards others who are not vegetarians. Guest guest
i think it is because they project themselves into our lives... and perhaps see our choices as a direct reflection upon them; it is all an ego thing mostly. Then you have the whole past baggage aspect and some people have a blindspot to seeing us as anything other than the 7 year old child they knew and loved. *lol* ~ pt ~ Life is a fragment, a moment between two eternities, influenced by all that has preceded, and to influence all that follows. Guest guest
You have got to be kidding? You are the only vegetarian in Grants Pass or just among your circle of friends? I can come down and find the others for you if you would like. I am good a rooting out other vegetarians/vegans...very good. Guest guest
Not kidding, i am the only one! *lol* Well, i can't claim sole ownership of vegetarianism in Grants Pass, i am sure there are others... just none that i have met thus far. i did meet a nice veg-gal from Ashland recently; oddly she was a waitress at a steakhouse restaurant my dh did the menu design for. Funny place to meet a vegetarian i thought. We are everywhere we least expect i suppose. ~ pt ~ They are only great who are truly good. ~ George Chapman ~~~*~~~*~~~> , " linda " <lindai81@c...> wrote: > > You have got to be kidding?
