Guest guest
Strawberry rhubarb pie is awesome, if you make applesauce dice up a stalk and add to the apples as they cook. It's sour and like Freebird said, you need to use sugar with it. Now don't eat too much, rhubarb could put the Ex-Lax company out of business if more people knew. We have a few recipes scattered in the dessert folder area, you might try the misc. & fruit folder. I have a rhubarb sweet bread recipe that's good, I haven't posted it yet. I have no idea what it is--except I have a vague idea it looks like Swiss Chard, but has special preparation rules. Guest guest
When I had a garden, I used to always have rhubard plants. I loved to pick a stalk and eat it raw, dipped in sugar. My mom got me started on that and I in turn got my daughter hooked on eating it that way. A lot of the time, I just cook it up, sweetened with a bit of sugar, and eat it as a dessert by itself. Sometimes I'll pour a little milk on it. I also make strawberry rhubard jam. Guest guest
Wow, you guys are hard core! I grew up with a thriving rhubarb bush in my mom's garden and I HATED rhubarb, even though I made preserves with it. So I never ever cook rhubarb. Then, my daughter visited a friend and they made strawberry rhubarb pie. My daughter loved it. So I guess I need to reconsider ye humble rhubarb. :-) Sharon Alana Farrell wrote: > When I had a garden, I used to always have rhubard plants. > > > > > >
