Well, I learned from this list (and Donna in particular) that Fleur del

Sel is a great finishing salt. So that's how I plan to use it. You

don't want to " cook " this kind of salt or you risk ruining some of it's

beneficial properties. And it is quite pricey. Donna says she can

taste the difference.

The *sigh* is because I bought ... ahem... $60 worth of spices, salt and

cocoa. <blush>

Oh, Deanna, when I hear your name I always think of Deanna Troy on Star

Trek. Yup, I'm a geek. :-)

It's such a treat to have too ingredients. I haven't tried this particuliar

salt from Pensey's but it's got to be good.

I buy the Flower of the Ocean.

I'm also in love with Penzey's sandwich sprinkles and their baking spice

blend. See I waited to tell you after you placed your order.LOL

Fleur del Sel IS Flower of the Ocean. It's just French. ;-) It's the

same thing.

I did get their Sandwich Sprinkles and their Northwoods Seasoning. I

didn't get the baking spice blend, but I got their Epazote and their

Taco Seasoning. And some other, less exotic stuff that I need. Now

that I'm over the sticker shock, I'm very excited! LOL

WE just bought a gallon size jar of Veganise at a health food store. It was a

lot cheaper and we were going thru jars sooner than I could make a trip to the

place they sell them. No where close by sells it.

LOL! Yes, I guess you can say that the smoked paprika is a $60 jar. :-)

As to whether Frontier is cheaper. I don't know - I've never shopped

there. I never heard of them until very recently when I noticed that

Lorna Sass recommends them in her Pressure Cooker cookbook. I'll have

to check them out. :-)
