My computer is really a mess...I tried to send this before but haven't a

clue as to where it went. Used the twister, and yes I have the directions,

but it didn't crush it and had two huge chunks. Freak! Anyway, do you twist

it the whole 360 degrees or what? What am I doing wrong? And Shawn ain't

gonna help you...only the Goddess can. And at the moment she is taken with

the fact that the roofers went right on through her ceiling in their

finesses. It is a day to not live over. Amy, how come you aren't serving me

coffee and one of those treats from Jimbo's? I may show up at your door, or

PT (who is imminently closer) or Shawn, although Texas isn't my

favorite...isn't that where you are? I do know both Amy's and PT's addresses

though...maybe I will sell those addresses? <evil grin> Post Office has also

pissed me off...but I am afraid of them. LOL

Here's a little video of how you're supposed to do it...

(Scroll down there's a link on the page)

Sorry to hear about the roofers. One time there was a guy working on

my mom's house too, that fell through - landed on the corner of the

tv, and it was one of those " cabinet " kinds that look like furniture.

Wish you had a Jimbo's near you. :-7

Gee, thanks Amy....I had deleted the Real Player which is what this needed

and had to down load it which took a bit, but I finally saw the video and

saw how I had to do it. Not sure what it is I did wrong, but will try it

again tomorrow and sit and watch the video again if need be although it

doesn't look like it should take a rocket scientist, and that I am not. LOL

Goddess, if I ever get this to work it will make it so easy to make a butt

load of garlic. Thanks! But that smart ass remark about Jimbo's is gonna

cost you dolly san. <grinning while sticking tongue out at you> How is the

sugar withdrawal going. I know what is really bugging you and that is that

you don't have a Lotus Garden there and I do!

I've got two words for you, Linda - User Error! ;)

Naw seriously, it is tricky for the first couple of times. Beginners trick

- cut up the cloves and smash them with the side of a knife or the handle of

the Twister. Then plop them in there with the teeth meeting each other.

Twist the two ends in opposite directions back and forth back and forth 180

degress). It feels funny at first but by the 2nd/3rd try you'll be kicking

its tail with no probs.

Hope you got that roof and those roofers straightened out, Linda. That

Twister is pretty heavy duty, just knock 'em on the head. Don't sell those

addresses. Remember that karma of yours and don't forget your favey postal

employees. They may have a say in all of that or just laugh really loud

like this - LOLOLOL!

Anywho, let us know how that garlic twister goes. If need be I'll shoot

some pictures or video of it for ya. Hopefully you aren't that wimpified

and can handle the kitchen gadget after a couple of tries. :)

No, just your daughter, eh? (isn't she the one studying physics?)

I think once you figure it out you'll be surprised how easy it is.

Well, it wasn't meant to be smart ass - I really wish you had one! *lol*

Well, since I've never been to Lotus Garden I wouldn't know... but

maybe you can sub in Vegetable Garden in DC and I would be jealous!

So far the sugar thing is definitely ... inconsistent. I've been

making it a couple weeks between " binges " ... it should really just be

a treat, but it's often too much and it makes me feel sick and I sweat

never to eat it again... two weeks later I'm back at it. I'm going to

try extending the time between allowing myself something sweet,

because it seems once I have a bite I have difficulty controlling

myself. :-( OTOH, one day every two weeks is a HUGE improvement! :-)

Hey, don't bring me into this! *lol* i don't own one of

those garlic twister thingies yet... but if you want to travel

on down here i can show you how to chop garic the old

fashioned way, and we can perform a burial ritual for

that bum gadget you got. ;)

But seriously, i do hope you can figure it out. i have checked

the links Shawn and Amy posted of them and they look very

easy and cool to have. It was on my wish list for kitchen

supplies, but if you can't figure it out then i probably can't

either.

Oh, yes, my daughter. Well, she is into the Unified Theory thing and is

working on the " something " I think particle accelerator. She passed me a

long time ago, but I let her know that I can still take her out and replace

her with another daughter just like her if she gets too uppity. Thank the

goddess she isn't into rocket science....LOL...we still have to program the

equipment around here for her.

Well, after seeing the video I am really curious as to what I was doing

wrong, but getting ready to try again as soon as I hang a few more pictures.

It is only 9:30 am and already the roof people tromped through to see what

they needed to repair my ceiling they whacked through, the fixer called to

set an appointment for that, the Trane heat pump people were here resetting

the thermostat and the vents and the roofers are here started their

stupidity all over again. LOL. The cats and dog are in permanent hiding, and

my feet hurt. Rant! <grinning> My daughter is quitting work at 2 this

afternoon and taking me out for some fun...and of course it is raining. What

I want is for a man to rescue me and take me to Jimbo's.

Happy news! My son, on ship over in the war zone is coming home May 5th! He

flies helicopters and I am so glad to get him back. He was also over off the

coast of Somalia and that was nerve wracking. Remember Black Hawk Down?

Fortunately I don't really care for sugar and not much into breads and

pasta. However, I struggle with my salt addiction and it crept back up over

the last couple of months so threw it all out the other day. I can't find

anything that really replaces it either no matter what I try. I'll resort to

drinking the juice that olives come in just for the salt....bad, bad, bad. I

also swear that I won't eat salt again when I eat it, but damn, popcorn at

the movies is so good. So now I try to stay away from the movies too. I

think you are doing really well though with the sugar. Can you use sugar

substitutes? (I know they are healthy though)

Donna, it's a very simple, fast chopper. Pop the cloves in, twist, and

you have chopped garlic. linda's being stubborn. ;-)

Gee, I get told that by a lot of people. Maybe I am? Or it could just be

tenacious? Or just plain stupid! Ha! That's it.

Well, your assignment for today is to go buy a Garlic Twister right now. If

you still had the PC you would be able to do so. Remember, I saw one for $16

and then $15 but I got it at PC of $10. I love it now that I have figured it

out.

About the book and roofers....sure hon, sure! There are ear plugs good

enough and plus there are so many other people running in and out I would

never hear them. Some just toot in without permission head for the bathroom

and use it too without permission. I started a burial ground out in the back

yard.

Hi Linda. Congrats on your son coming in early May! That is cool. Maybe

he can help out with the house - ok that wouldn't be very welcoming would

it?

That olive juice is good stuff. *lol* What kind of salt addict are you,

Linda? Do you have problems with it as a condiment? If you can use a

typical amount of regular salt in cooking, you should pick up a No-Salt or

Lo-Salt to use as a condiment. If I remember correctly you are like me and

like the salty snacks and salt itself. That is a problem that is very hard

to conquer, speaking from experience.

I've recently found a wonderful peanut mix that has sesame sticks in it.

I've never liked these things before (bought the can because it was el

cheapo). Well, taste buds have changed and these sesame sticks are

fantastic. I just actually bought a bag of the sesame sticks alone because

they go really well in my salads. See, salty sesame snacks in salads...

12 steps here I come...

Have a good time with your daughter today, Linda. :)

S.

....oh by the way. I don't know if I've mentioned this. I just recently

purchased some Quaker rice cake snacks. These still have a good deal of

sodium but less than an ordinary chip or your popcorn probably (as well as

less calories and fats). They are surprisingly really good. Saw them on

sale and said what the heck. I probably wouldn't buy them on their

regularly over priced health food product suggest price but on sale it is

definitely worth it.
