Guest guest
I hear that, Marie. I need to invest in a good set as well. I chop fresh produce all of the time as I tend to buy fresh over frozen and canned for the most part. For the longest time I had been cutting it with a knife that could not even slice a tomato without having to puncture the tomato to create a groove to cut through. Now I use a standard table knife which is better but I still would like to get a big, proper knife. ...er I should say some that are actually sharp unlike mine. Guest guest
I should suggest the Lock'n'Lock boxes (I think I mentioned them here once before, perhaps after I posted the pic of my pantry?). Anyway, I am able to chop up fruits and veggies, and tear up salad greens, and have them last the week. I love them. With the salad greens, I put a paper towel in the bottom, fill it with washed/spun/torn salad greens, and lay another paper towel on top. Those, depending on the greens, will last at least a week. Very useful boxes... and they have them at Target now.
Guest guest
I would like to get a George Foreman grill. Have to talk hubby into it still though. I would also like to get the jerky gun for dehydrating. This weekend I had the tofurkey jerky while backpacking, and it was yummy, so now I have to try it myself! Some other things I'm considering: a glass oil mister - my sister got one and says it works SO much better than the plastic ones I have (and she used to have). the wondercup thingy Donna or someone mentioned - they have it at bakerscatalogue.com now. A large rectangular stone for my oven. I have around pizza stone in there now, but often I want to put in two or three loaves of bread, for example, and they don't all fit on there. Or if I want to do individual pizzas - I can't fit two side by side on the pizza stone.:-

I've had knives like this. Shawn - do you have a Marshall's there? They have a section of kitchenware and you can often get good deals on excellent cookware - Chantal, Emile Henry, KitchenAid... the KitchenAid knives are good and they often have those! And get yourself a sharpener! :-)
