Guest guest
i see Susie came to the rescue! So glad you didn't try using that condensed milk in the recipe. Typically all condensed milk is actually " sweetened-condensed " so it is very sugary. Evaporated milk is just plain, unsweetened but creamy tasting... always good to add to any cream soup or sauce to give it a more rich texture. ~ pt ~ The most important part of a fighting attitude is humor, because it keeps you loose. ~ Robert Lipsyte (cancer patient) ~~~*~~~*~~~> , Meg G <itszen4me wrote: > > I got a recipe for all day mac & cheese from the files and it calls for > evaporated milk. > Can i use condensed? > > I've never ever used either but for some reason I have condensed in my > pantry > > meg >
Guest guest
HI Meg: I know I am once again very far behind in my reading however condensed and evaporated are not the same. Condensed is sweet and evaporated is not. We use condensed milk when we make fudge. I think it is best in baking. I use a can of evaporated milk when I make mac and cheese.
