Guest guest
Hi, Cuppa! I also had the gain around the great 50 landmark. It was more than 5 lbs for me, however. I'm pretty tall, and 5 lbs for me is chickenfeed pretty much...for me it was like 15 over a period of 3 years...very depressing. I also was exercising at least 5 days a week, and my dietary habits had not changed. What happened in my favor (?) was that I finally had a stress fracture in my foot from too much high impact activity such as step and running. I can't help it, I inherited crummy feet! The silver lining was that this caused me to seek out another type of exercise, which turned out to be a spinning class. (I was able to use my heel of my injured foot to push the pedal down). This little tweak in my activity program set my body back into the burning mode again (big time! whoah!!!!) and I realized just how much I'd been missing the last few years favoring those aching feet that were trying to tell me to ease up a little on the stress and impact. It also caused me to tweak my eating patterns a bit to go a lot lighter on sugars and fats, and higher on complex carbs---more fiber--all that kind of stuff. Within months I had lost those 15 pounds, plus 10 more bonus....all from a broken foot! LOL! I still can't believe it, but I've maintained...and still seem to be losing a little bit every now and then....so... change up the exercise---see if you can get more intense with less impact, and be sure some of that is body shaping (weight training), then see if the diet can be tweaked to be even more healthy.... I did so want to put all this to rhyme! Just got so busy writing, I ran out of time! Paula .....Peas Porridge }{ot, Peas Porridge cold, Peas Porridge I've a pot--five lbs bold! I wanna lose five lbs! I exercise, I eat right......

Guest guest
Actually harder exercise isn't always better in the long haul..I lost 45 lbs just doing a simple walk regimen (and by following my own diet) that was years ago and I stayed at 100 lbs for six years doing so... I only have gained 10...must be someway to target the weight loss? I was rail thin at 100 and I liked it that's all , " nadiana01 " <nadiana1 wrote: > > , " cuppa_2u " <cuppa_2u@> > wrote: > > > > }{mmm don't do any impact exercise I cardio glide and walk just when > > I weighed less it's just that I want the weight to come off in only > > certain places if you get my drift?? : ) thanks so much for > > responding--- > > ah, ok. this is a major part of the problem. > > 1) " cardio gliding " is actually a very poor workout; it burns very > few calories. > > 2) you absolutely need to start weight training 2-3 times per week. > every pound of muslce you have burns 35-55 extra calories, and will > help keep your bones strong, too. > > 3) you might want to think about upping the intensity and/or changing > the activities you are already doing. > > 4) there is no such thing as spot-training-- your body will lose fat > how it chooses, which usually is in this order: > > -face > -extremities > -torso > > hope this helps... > > melody > > http://www.flawlessfitness.com > > http://www.melodysmusic.net >

Have always exercised more than most but it's the food intake that I must watch to keep my weight down. Oh, how I loved the days when I was 100-110# (I'm 5'2 " ), your statement " I liked it that's all " . I liked it too and I want to use your statement as my mantra to try to get back down to 110#. I could use the excuses of taking prednisone or that I began eating cheese again, moved off the farm, or I just eat too much. Need the pred so I'll try to eliminate cheese and cut down my intake and hope to some day move back to the farm. sisu vegetarian for so long, really don't know what any meat tastes like
