Guest guest Posted September 19, 2006 Report Share Posted September 19, 2006 There is a wonderful cookbook by Chinese Medical Doctor Bob Flaws (Blue Pooy Press) with lots or congee (jook) recipes for variuos ailments. I don't remeber the name of it. Congee has always been used in as a remedy and a tonic. I use veggie stock, rather than water when I make congee and add the appropriate herbs/veggies or fruits.
