Guest guest
-Welcome Kadee, You have come to the right place..Don't get too side-tracked by the chat about Twinkies and gravy. You will find some wonderful recipes in the files. I have a list to try as soon as cool weather sets in. Your household appears to be like mine many years ago. I never knew what kind of creature would show up nex, including snakes, spiders and kids sleeping over. Have fun with them because they are off on their own adventures way too soon. Sending smiles and hugs your way Deanna -- In , " Kadee " <abbey_road3012 wrote: > > Well I joined this list just now hoping to find some good, healthy > things to cook for my family, and I see deep fried pickles, french > fries with gravy, and twinkies.. > > >
Guest guest
Kadee, St. Louis? I'm originally from St. Charles. My sister (O'Fallon) and father still live there. Nice of you to join us. We were talking about all the extremely unhealthy choices there were out there but are trying to get off that subject. You will find some wonderful recipes in the files section for the group. Guest guest
LOL! well don't worry, we do have some recipes here that are healthy, LOL. See, not all vegetarians are health conscious, lol, in my most humble opinion it is a lot of times a secondary reason for vegetarianism, such as in my case. I have said this a million times, and here I go again: I first became a vegetarian for SPIRITUAL reasons, then it became for health reasons, now it's just to piss people off. ) please take a look at the recipe section, LOL you won't be disappointed, LOL. blessings of welcome, Chanda - Kadee Saturday, August 12, 2006 1:21 AM deep fried pickles... and hello! Well I joined this list just now hoping to find some good, healthy things to cook for my family, and I see deep fried pickles, french fries with gravy, and twinkies... Sounds good! Just kidding, of course, the thought of deep fried pickles didn't do any good for my rum-filled tummy just now. Anyway, here's my intro post: My name is Kadee, I live near St. Louis with my husband Jeff, 2 1/2 y/o daughter Leah, 1 1/2 y/o son Jeffery Jr., dogs Lucy and Fancy, rats Tchaikovsky, Chopin, Pachebel, and Fillmore, and mice Vivaldi, Schubert, and Brahms. Whew! And we're getting more soon... The first of this month made 10 years I've been a vegetarian- big " wooooo! " for that one, I'm very proud of myself! I'm 23, so that's nearly half my life, plus part of it was spent in a Texas high school, which makes me one brave soul. I'm great at cooking things I know how to cook, and my husband is really getting burned out on the few things I make well. So here I am, about to search the files for good stuff to feed to that picky boy. He's only a vegetarian at home since the only meat allowed in the house is for the dogs, so I have to try and make things extra good or he'll go into how good his mom's gumbo is... crazy cajun! So anyway, I've read through today's digest, this seems like a fun group, so hello to all and I'm going to look for some goodies in the files. Guest guest
What? No Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Paganini, Liszt or Telemann. Guest guest
That's kind of what I did too. Became a vegetarian first for moral/spiritual reasons, then realized I could eat like an absolute glutton and not gain an ounce, and being 108 lbs at the end of high school, naturally, that pissed people off. Most of what I cook has about a zillion grams of fat per bite, so the " unhealthy " recipies are just as good to me as the healthy ones. Sometimes when I'm eating a big plate full of chocolate chip cookies with butter, drinking rum and coke, with a big can of cashews set aside for later, I think, " Some cow or chicken is out there right now, living another day because of me " , and it just feels good. Plus it also feels good to eat cookies. That almost sounded Jack Handey-ish, didn't it? Kadee Sedtal Messenger with Voice. Make PC-to-Phone Calls to the US (and 30+ countries) for 2¢/min or less.
