Guest guest
http://www.ewg.org/reports/skindeep/ This site is a personal care safety site with over 14,000 products. I buy as best I can the least harmful of things for the old body, but I am at the mercy of the label to a huge extent. But I saw this site mentioned in Veg-News, I think, that actually gives a rating on the ones that I buy...Ecco Bella, Tom's of Maine, Kiss My Face, Nature's Gate, Aveda. I was really surprised and actually pleased with the ones that I am buying. Thought some of you might be interested. I know that the products I buy don't contain animal ingredients and aren't tested on animals, but the site won't tell you that. Nearly all of the products for personal care out there do contain animal products/by-products and unless it says it doesn't it probably does. Also, if it doesn't say it is not tested on animals it probably is, but then you can call the company and ask. Some will say no...however, they may be just saying that the " finished " product isn't tested on animals and don't mention that the ingredients going in to it have been. Took me a while to figure this one out. I think the hardest thing to replace was hair conditioner that at least works a little bit. linda
