Guest guest
Thank you so much for this postive statement about the different paths people are on! I'm printing this creed to put on the front of my refrigerator! I am enjoying being a member of this site, (for only a few days so far!). Yesterday evening I made the peach glazed tofu which was so good and my husband raved about --and also the cabbage saute with poppy seeds. Both wonderful recipes. I appreciate the kindness and helpfulness everyone has expressed to me since I've been here. Paula-- BTW--I bought the semi firm tofu 16 oz, opened and drained it, then cut it in half horizontally and then vertically to measure about 1 " , stuck in in the freezer in it's little plastic container, and it froze very quickly. Pulled it out after about an hour, and dropped it into some very hot water that had been heated in the microwave. I was surprised that it didn't thaw in the center after about 5 minutes. So I heated some more water in the 4 cup glass measuring vessel. Put the tofu in again and let sit about 5 minutes. I was amazed that some of those little squares were still slightly frozen in the middle! But it was really neat, they were like little sponges and I just was able to lightly squeeze them and see the water come out. They didn't disintegrate And my husband, unsolicited, commented that this tofu dish was so much neater than the other ones I cook because it was more substantial and chewy! That doesn't make them stupid, or idiots and the best way i have found to help educate people towards the vegetarian path is through kindness, understanding, and sharing with them delicious recipes. i feel we all have much to learn from eachother. i learn things and find a source of encouragement on my path from people who are not vegetarians yet but are openminded, enthusiastic, and curious. Its all good! Every person who is trying to be better is doing their part to make the world a nicer place to live.
Guest guest
You're very welcome, Paula. i am glad you enjoyed the optimist creed. i think printing it out to place on the refrigerator is a great idea; i am going to have to do that too. i hear it on the radio ad for this local coffeehouse chain here in Oregon called Dutch Brothers... they call it the Dutch Creed, and all their employees have to memorize it. i am happy you found this group and are enjoying being a member. Have you had a chance to look through the recipe files yet? There are so many great recipes that all our members have tried in the past and shared here. You will be amazed and never be at a loss for delicious meal ideas! :::Irish Coffee mug salute::: Sl‡inte! ~ pt ~ " May the best day of your past be the worst day of your future.
