Guest guest
It's a delicious spice, I grind it and add to my coffee grounds before brewing. Here is a recipe for cookies with Cardamom. CARDAMOM COOKIES 3 1/4 cups sifted flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 tsp baking powder 1 tsp ground Cardamom 1 cup butter or margerine, softened 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed 1 large egg 3/4 cup heavy cream 1 cup slivered blanched almonds Sift dry ingredients except almonds. Cream butter or margerine with sugars until light and fluffy, beat in egg. Add dry sifted ingredients alternating with the cream, a bit at a time. Add the almonds last and knead the dough together. Form the dough into 2 inch diameter rolls and wrap tightly in foil or plastic wrap. Refrigerate and chill for at least 2 hours. When ready to bake preheat oven to 350F degrees. Cut rolls into 1/8 inch slices and bake 10-12 minutes on ungreased cookie sheets. Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
