Guest guest
The website for the Village Market isn't updated, but if you call them, they will tell you anything they carry, that you are curious about. It is 19,000 sq. foot square foot health food supermarket with everything you could ever need as a vegetarian. Judy - wwjd Tuesday, August 22, 2006 10:29 AM Re: GardenBurger Riblets Sue Sue If you go up to Chattanoonga, which is probably about as close , there is small college town there, called Collegedale and they have this wonderful supermarket there called the Village Market... http://vm.southern.edu/products.php It is all Vegetarian and the selections of everything one would need is fantastic. They also have a huge selections of meat substitues, canned, frozen and dried. It is more of the Worthington/Loma Linda Line of products, but they also carry others. I grew up on the Worthington Loma Linda products and use them most everyday in cooking...... http://www.kelloggs.com/brand/worthington/ They have frozen logs of the luncheon " meat " that they will slice for you or have them in smaller packages already sliced. I buy the logs and slice when I get home usually and then put a few slices in each bag. You will love this store...........Spices/herbs galore, grains, a small deli in the back, vegetarian " chicken " and " beef " type seasoniongs........ Tofutti products and so much more. You could go there and stock up and just store the cans in your pantry and freeze the frozen stuff. I stock up once a year for most everything I will need. MY husband love the scallops and Tender bits in particular. I use the choplets in stir fry and Fri-chik in casseroles and potato " chicken " noodle soup...etc.... They will sell by the cases and give you a discount... or you can buy by the individual can...... They have the Lindsey green olives that taste like black olives, but so much more tender and flavorful........... Just love this place... Enjoy, Judy - Sue Tuesday, August 22, 2006 9:48 AM Re: GardenBurger Riblets Sue I do have a Sams about 100 miles away. Do they carry anything at all? And I have looked at the patties in the recipe files. Looks good. sue ---- Donnalilacflower 08/22/06 10:20:15 Re: GardenBurger Riblets Sue I'm in LA and believe me every single time I enter Whole Foods or Trader Joe's I think of how many members in the group that don't have these stores in their area. I'm not sure if you can buy these products online since they have to be refrigerated. You can always make our burgers and loaves from the files and they freeze well. I actually prefer the patties and loaves to the alternative products but it's nice now and then to toss some of the Yves in a sandwich or pop the riblets in the microwave for a quick meal. Let's hope as more people out here shop in these stores, and they will expand and move into other areas. --- Sue <kup wrote: > Donna? I am in the mountains. We have nothing > here. Zilch! Guest guest
Yes it would be a beautiful drive from where you are to there. Traffic isn't bad there either. It is directly across from the University in a plaza. There is also a Little Debbie's Snack CakeThrift Store there in Collegedale, not that I am promoting those, but they also have healthing things they also carry in the Thrift bakery store. I love to pick up toasted unsweetened bags of coconut , Better than Milk(Soy Milk powder), and other things there. It is about 3 miles from the Village Market. Anyone there will know where it is and can direct you to it. I hope you get to go and enjoy it. You don't even have to get into Chattanooga, TN to get there. Let me know if you go. You'll enjoy it. Good produce too. Take a cooler for any frozen items you want to buy. They are closed Friday night and Saturday.
