Guest guest
Christene, There are several big companies that have items for cheaper prices and hard to find food items/cookbooks. Several folks basically get together and send their order in to one person in the group that places it with the company. Most have a minimum amount to get the best shipping rates. Then it is picked up from a specified location off a truck in your area and it is divided up into each families order. Here is one that I order from. It is really great. Someone else takes care of getting it off the truck and divides it up by each families order and then we pick it up at her home. http://www.somethingbetternaturalfoods.com/faq.html http://www.somethingbetternaturalfoods.com/products.htm You can see a product list for them here. BTW an individual can order on their own and have it delivered by UPS, if you don't have a co-op in your area or you don't want to start up one. I bet however if you wanted to start one up, others in your area would be interested in placing a group order to get the better shipping rates. Hope this helps, Judy - Christene Eggie Tuesday, September 19, 2006 12:39 PM co-ops I often read mention of a co-op here on this list serv. What is a co-op? Guest guest
A Co-OP is a supermarket in Great Britain. The co-op group also have a bank, funeral directors, chemist, travel agent etc and are run by ethically and pay dividends to members. Perhaps you have something similar? , Christene Eggie <kaijax wrote: > > I often read mention of a co-op here on this list serv.
