Guest guest
I am having second thought about coming to your house for dinner Shawn! Omgoddess! This says more about the quality of human food than pet food. Pet food is made up of animals and animal by-products that have been deemed unsuitable for human consumption. Many brands have the ground up remains of pets that have been euthanized. That is a proven fact. They determined that since they were finding traces of the drug that is used to euthanize animals in pet food and upon research than located veterinarian places were indeed selling the bodies of euthanized animals to pet food companies or a middle man. While pet food may be lower in fat, salt and sugar of fast foods that doesn't say anything about the quality of the pet food for human consumption, but of the quality of our fast foods. Omgoddess. Doesn't that freak you out? I remember when younger stories done on the networks news about poverty among the elderly and how they were reduced to eating canned pet food. I am not even sure that I would eat Newman's Organic pet food if I were a flesh eating carnivore! <grinning> linda " subprong " <subprong > It may seem a bit over the top, but a new study has found that the > tins of cat and dog food you feed your favourite pet is not only good > for their health but yours as well, for it contains less fat, salt and > sugar levels than fast food. > > Nutrition experts who compared 30 human meals with 15 pet foods > discovered that Gourmet Gold cat food, with 2.9 grams of fat per 100 > grams, was not only eight times less fatty than pieces of Kentucky > Fried Chicken (KFC) which had 23.2 grams of fat per 100 grams and 1.9 > grams of salt. > > Researchers also found that the level of fat was far lower than a > McDonald's Big Mac burger and a Pizza Hut meal. > > Scientist John Searle, from the Global food-testing lab in Burton upon > Trent, which carried out the tests, said that pet food was healthier > under the Food Standards Agency's " traffic light " labelling scheme, > than most food human beings eat. > > " It would not do a human any harm to eat this cat and dog food.
